Estimates & Service Fees
What to expect when you call us for residential or commercial HVAC work.
Our Approach to Pricing
We believe in being upfront about costs before we start any work. No surprises, no hidden fees, no awkward conversations at the end of a job.
How we handle estimates depends on what you need—whether it's a new installation, a repair, or commercial work. Here's how it breaks down.
Residential Installations: Free Estimates
Thinking about replacing your AC, installing a new heat pump, or upgrading your system? We'll come out, assess your home, discuss your options, and give you a detailed quote—all at no charge.
This includes system replacements, new installations, and major upgrades. We want you to have all the information you need to make the right decision for your home and budget, without any pressure.
What's Included in a Free Installation Estimate
Home Assessment
We evaluate your current system, ductwork, and home layout to understand what you need.
Equipment Options
We explain different system choices at various price points so you can pick what fits your goals.
Written Quote
You get a detailed estimate with no obligation. Take your time deciding.
Residential Repairs: $75 Diagnostic Fee
When something's wrong with your system—it's not cooling, making strange noises, or just not working right—we charge a flat $75 diagnostic fee to come out and figure out what's going on.
This fee covers our technician's time and expertise to properly diagnose the issue. We'll explain what we find, what it'll cost to fix, and give you options.
Here's the good part: If you decide to move forward with the repair, we credit the $75 toward your total. So you're really only paying it if you choose not to proceed.
When the $75 Diagnostic Fee Applies
These services require hands-on troubleshooting before we can provide a repair estimate.
System Repairs
AC not cooling, heat not working, strange noises—anything that needs troubleshooting.
System Inspections
Evaluating a system before buying a home or checking on an aging unit.
Second Opinions
Another company gave you a quote and you want a fresh set of eyes on it.
Efficiency Evaluations
Figuring out why your energy bills are high or your home isn't comfortable.
Diagnostic Fee Credit
If you proceed with the repair, your $75 diagnostic fee is credited toward the total cost. You only pay it separately if you decide not to move forward.
Commercial Work: Professional Assessment Fee
Commercial HVAC is a different animal. The systems are larger, the stakes are higher, and getting it right requires real expertise.
For commercial projects, we charge an assessment fee for on-site evaluations. The fee varies based on project size and timeline—a small retail space is different from a multi-story office building, and a routine replacement is different from an urgent situation that needs fast turnaround.
We're not just giving you a number—we're giving you a professional assessment from people who know what they're doing. That takes time and expertise, and we think it's fair to charge for it.
What Commercial Assessments Include
Site Visit
We come to your facility and evaluate your current equipment, layout, and requirements.
System Analysis
Load calculations, efficiency evaluation, and identification of any issues or opportunities.
Detailed Proposal
A written report with findings, recommendations, and pricing for the work.
Commercial Assessment Fee Credit
Just like our residential diagnostic fee, if you choose to move forward with the project, we credit your assessment fee toward the total cost.
Not ready to commit to a site visit? Give us a call and describe what you're dealing with. We're happy to give you a ballpark range over the phone so you can decide if it makes sense to proceed with a formal assessment.

Why We Do It This Way
We could offer free everything and hope to make it up in volume. But that's not how we want to run our business.
Charging for diagnostics and commercial assessments does a few things: it respects our technicians' time and expertise, it filters out folks who aren't serious, and it lets us focus on customers who value quality work over the cheapest price.
We're not trying to be the bargain option. We're trying to be the right option—the team you call when you want the job done correctly by people who know what they're doing and stand behind their work.
Common Questions About Estimates
Our diagnostic fee is a flat $75, which covers the technician visit and troubleshooting. It's credited toward your repair if you move forward, so you only pay it separately if you decide not to proceed.
If we determine your system needs to be replaced rather than repaired, we'll give you a full installation estimate at no additional charge. The diagnostic fee still applies, but you'll have all the information you need to decide.
For installations, we really need to see your home to give you an accurate number—there are too many variables. For repairs, we can sometimes narrow it down based on symptoms, but a proper diagnosis requires a visit. For commercial work, we're happy to discuss ranges before scheduling an assessment.
Second opinions require the same diagnostic work as any other service call, so our standard diagnostic fee applies. However, if we find something different than what you were told and you proceed with our repair, the fee is credited.
If we diagnose an issue and for some reason can't complete the repair (rare, but it happens), we'll discuss your options. You won't be charged for work we can't finish.
The fee depends on the size and complexity of the project, as well as your timeline. A small retail space with a standard timeline will have a lower assessment fee than a large facility or a project that needs expedited evaluation. We'll quote the assessment fee upfront before scheduling. If you approve the project, the fee is credited toward the total cost.
